National Institute of Technology Delhi (NITD) is an autonomous premier technical institute located in New Delhi, India. Established in 2010, it is one of the 31 NITs in India and is governed under the aegis of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. History of NIT Delhi
Foundation & Early Years:
NIT Delhi was one of the ten new NITs established in 2010 by the Government of India as part of its 11th Five-Year Plan to expand technical education across the country.
Initially, it functioned under the mentorship of NIT Warangal with temporary classrooms at NIT Warangal and later from a transit campus in Dwarka, New Delhi.
Transition to Permanent Campus:
In 2018, the institute shifted to its permanent campus at Narela, located in northwest Delhi. Since then, the campus has seen significant infrastructural and academic expansion.
The campus is now equipped with modern labs, hostels, a central library, high-speed internet, sports facilities, and academic blocks.
