Established in 1959 with the backing of then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Neelam Sanjiva Reddy and inaugurated by India's Health Minister P. Karmarkar, KMC Warangal is one of Telangana’s oldest government medical schools. Spanning ~152 acres in Warangal, it is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal and fully recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and formerly the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college is linked to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital, which serves as its primary teaching hospital and provides a wide range of practical clinical exposure.
