The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the online registration process for JEE Main 2025 will commence soon.

Optional questions in section B of JEE Main-2025 scrapped

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the online registration process for JEE Main 2025 will commence soon.

Additionally, the NTA has eliminated the option to select questions in Section B of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025. Previously, candidates could choose any five out of ten questions in Section B, but starting with the 2025 exam, this flexibility will no longer be available. This change impacts JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/BTech), Paper 2A (BArch), and Paper 2B (BPlanning).

The option to select questions was initially introduced as a temporary measure to accommodate challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. This provision was in place from 2020 to 2024. However, following the World Health Organization’s (WHO) announcement in May 2023 that COVID-19 was no longer a global public health emergency, the NTA has decided to revert to the original exam format. Section B will now consist of five compulsory questions for each subject, with no option for candidates to choose.

In an official statement, the NTA emphasized that this modification will affect all relevant papers for JEE Main 2025, including BE/BTech, BArch, and BPlanning. Further details about the exam pattern will be provided in the JEE Main 2025 information bulletin, which will be released soon.

The NTA also advises candidates to regularly visit the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, for the latest updates and to access necessary resources for registration and exam preparation.
