Established in 1953, Government Medical College (GMC), Patiala—also known as Rajindra Hospital Medical College—holds the distinction of being the first medical college in the erstwhile PEPSU state. It is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, and approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
