Government Dharmapuri Medical College is a government medical institution located in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu. It was started in 2008. It is affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, and is approved by the the national medical regulator (NMC). It’s a co-educational institute that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses.

• Competition is still significant because seats are limited (only 100 UG seats).

• PG seats are modest (about 41); for competitive specialties, ranks need to be decent.

• Hostel / infrastructure may still be expanding; new batches might face constraints.

Tips for aspirants:

1. For MBBS, aim for rank much better than ~15000 in All India quota to have good chance; state quota requirements can be much more favorable (General category rank around ~1454 in 2025 in state quota).

2. If you are domicile of Tamil Nadu, that gives you advantage in state quota; make sure to apply via Tamil Nadu counselling.

3. For PG, prepare well for NEET PG; closing ranks suggest you need to be fairly competitive (ranks less than ~80000 or better in many specialties).
