Birla Institute of Management conducts a computer-based Online Test referred to as ‘BITS Admission Test’ aka BITSAT for admission to its undergraduate programs. BITSAT IMPORTANT DATES 2023

ABOUT THE EXAM:
BITSAT, unlike a traditional paper pen test, is a computer-based test. The candidate sits in front of the computer and answers the question on the screen using a monitor or keyboard. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set and delivers it to the candidate on the computer. This is unlike the traditional paper-pencil-based test, which is generally offered on a single day to all students.
The salient features are given below:

A candidate may appear a maximum of two times in BITSAT

The examination will be organized in two sets of dates, BITSAT Session 1 and BITSAT Session 2, separated by a gap of a few weeks. The candidate can choose the Center, the Day, and the slot of his/her convenience to take the test, as described later in this document.

A candidate who wishes to appear twice may do so, once during the first set of dates, and the second time during the second set. 

A candidate may opt to appear twice, even at the time of the first application. Such a candidate will then choose one slot from the first set of dates and another from the second. 

A candidate may also choose to appear the second time after the first appearance. To facilitate this process, there will be a period during which candidates who have appeared during Session 1 but had not originally exercised the option to appear twice, will be allowed to apply to appear a second time.

The application window will reopen immediately after the end date of Session 1 of BITSAT, only for those who appeared for Session 1 and choose to appear for a second time.

The student who has not applied for session 1 is not eligible to apply for session 2. 

A candidate who chooses to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. 5400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 4400 (for a female candidate). A candidate who originally opts to appear once (Session 1), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). If such a candidate chooses then to apply to appear a second time (Session 2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 1500 (for a female candidate). This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. 

For a candidate who has appeared twice in BITSAT 2023, and then seeks admission to any of the First-Degree programs in BITS Pilani, the higher of the two scores will be considered for admission.

BITSAT 2023- Test Format
Each session of BITSAT – 2023 will be of 3hr duration with no sectional time limits
There will be 130 questions in all.
The number of questions in each part of the section is as follows

ELIGIBILITY:
1.) For admission to B.E. or M.Sc.: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.

2.) For admission to B. Pharm.: Candidates should have passed the 12 th examinations of the 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However, candidates with PCM may also apply for the Pharmacy program.

Admissions to all the programs are subject to the conditions given below:

The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology subjects.  

Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2023 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2021 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2023 test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed. 

Students who have passed 12th examination in 2019 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2023.

Students who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT-2023. Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2023. However, their eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as mentioned above.

Direct Admission to Board Toppers:

In the past, the admission process of the Institute always ensured guaranteed admission to all the students who obtained first ranks in their respective board examinations. This has given a very vital input to highly meritorious students from all over India. First rank students of State and Central boards in India for the year 2023 will be given direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT-2023 score as per the eligibility criteria.

HOW TO APPLY:

Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2023 by applying in the prescribed application form online. A candidate must complete the application form online at http://www.bitsadmission.com and pay the prescribed fees. 

Also, take the printout of the filled-in form for your future reference.
 
As this time BITSAT shall be conducted in two sessions, the prescribed fee for BITSAT-2023 for a candidate who chooses to appear twice will have to pay a sum of Rs. 5400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 4400 (for a female candidate). A candidate who originally VII opts to appear once (Session 1), will pay a fee of Rs. 3400 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 2900 (for a female candidate). If such a candidate chooses then to apply to appear a second time (Session 2), then he/she will have to pay an additional sum of Rs. 2000 (for a male candidate) and Rs. 1500 (for a female candidate). If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center for session 1 only then the application fee for both male and female candidates will be Rs. 7000 (in INR).
