Autonomous State Medical College, Lalitpur (also called Autonomous Government Medical College Lalitpur) is a new government medical college in Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 2024. It is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow, and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The campus is located in Amarpur, Lalitpur, and the college sits on about 26 acres.
Because it is newly established, its full hospital infrastructure, faculty strength, and exposure levels are still developing.
Courses & Intake
Program offered: MBBS (undergraduate)
Duration: 5.5 years (4.5 years of academic study + 1 year compulsory internship)
Annual intake: 100 seats for MBBS
At present, there is no confirmed information about postgraduate (MD/MS) or specialty courses being available at ASMC Lalitpur; the focus remains on the MBBS program.
Admission Process & Eligibility (2025)
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for MBBS admission at ASMC Lalitpur, candidates should meet:
Academic qualification: 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Biotechnology), and English
Minimum marks: Usually 50% in PCB for General category; for reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST), lower threshold (e.g. 40%) may apply
Age: Must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the admission year
Entrance exam: Must appear in NEET-UG and secure a qualifying score
Counselling & Seat Allocation
State Quota (≈ 85 %): Handled by Uttar Pradesh Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET), Lucknow
All India Quota (≈ 15 %): Counselling through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)
Candidates must register for both state and AIQ counselling (if eligible), fill preferences, and after seat allotment, complete document verification and admission formalities.
Required documents typically include NEET Admit Card, NEET Scorecard, 10th & 12th marksheets, ID proof, category / caste certificate (if applicable), domicile certificate (for state quota), passport size photographs, and migration / transfer certificate.
Fee Structure
The fee structure at ASMC Lalitpur is relatively affordable, in line with government medical colleges. Some of the reported figures are:
Shiksha mentions a total tuition fee of around INR 1,29,600 for the MBBS program.
CareerMarg mentions annual fees in the government tier, though exact breakup is not detailed publicly.
Some older/alternate sources report lower annual fees (for example, one source lists INR 28,800 annually) but that may be outdated or provisional.
Because these are early estimates, students should verify the latest official fee schedule from the college or university before applying.
Cutoffs (NEET Trends)
Because the college is new, cutoff data is limited. However, recent trends suggest:
General (All India / AIQ): In 2025, closing ranks in some rounds are reported around 17,799 for General category (AIQ)
General (State Quota, HS / Home State): In one report, Round 1 cutoff for General HS quota is ~ 28,309 in 2025.
For 2024, earlier rounds had cutoffs around 22,419 for AIQ (General) at this college.
Reserved categories (OBC, SC, ST) will have lower cutoffs in accordance with reservation policies.
Because these cutoffs shift each year with competition, number of seats, and exam difficulty, they should be used only as guidance.
Placements, Internships & Clinical Exposure
As a newly formed college, ASMC Lalitpur does not yet have concrete placement statistics or alumni records.
Students will undergo a 1-year rotating internship in affiliated hospital departments after completing the academic portion of MBBS.
Clinical exposure depends heavily on the hospital bed count, patient inflow (OPD/IPD), departments in active operation, surgeries, diagnostics, etc.
Typically, MBBS graduates aim for postgraduate education (NEET-PG) or work in government or private hospitals.
Prospective students should check the hospital’s operational departments, case load, and faculty strength during campus visits or counseling to assess training quality.
Ranking & Reputation
Given its establishment in 2024, ASMC Lalitpur is still building its reputation and has no significant presence in national medical college rankings yet.
Over time, ranking will depend on student performance, research output, infrastructure development, clinical exposure, and alumni success.
Strengths & Challenges
Strengths:
Government backing and lower fee structure compared to private institutions
NMC recognition and affiliation with ABVMU
As an early batch college, students may get more attention and opportunities to shape departments
Challenges:
Infrastructure, hospital, and labs are likely still being built or upgraded
Lower case volume initially may affect hands-on training
Absence of past placement / alumni data
PG specialization opportunities may be limited in early years
Conclusion
Autonomous State Medical College, Lalitpur is a promising new institution for medical aspirants in Uttar Pradesh who seek government medical education with affordable fees. While many aspects like infrastructure, hospital exposure, and placements are still evolving, the college offers a solid foundation under government support. Early cohorts have an opportunity to shape and benefit from this growth phase.
