The National Testing Agency on Sunday responded to allegations of irregularities during the NEET UG 2026 in Rajasthan, asserting that the examination was conducted under stringent security measures. The clarification came after the Rajasthan Special Operations Group initiated an investigation into the matter.
In a statement shared on X, the NTA reiterated its commitment to conducting fair and transparent examinations and confirmed that the issue is currently being probed by law enforcement agencies in Rajasthan.
The agency revealed that it received information regarding alleged malpractice on the evening of May 7, four days after the examination. According to the NTA, the inputs were immediately forwarded to central agencies on May 8 for independent verification.
Referring to recent detentions highlighted in media reports, the NTA credited the swift and professional action of the investigating agencies. It also appreciated the efforts of the teams involved and stated that it is fully cooperating by providing technical support and examination-related data.
The NTA emphasised that the investigation is still underway and that the authorities will determine the facts through due process. The agency clarified that it would not speculate or comment prematurely on the outcome of the inquiry.
It further stated that any findings requiring action would be handled transparently and in accordance with established guidelines.
Addressing candidates and parents, the NTA assured that the credibility and hard work of genuine aspirants remain unquestioned. Acknowledging the concern caused by such reports, the agency urged students and families to allow investigators to complete their work without interference. It added that any future measures would be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Education if required.
Highlighting the security arrangements for the exam, the NTA stated that question papers were transported in GPS-enabled vehicles and carried unique watermark identifiers for traceability. Examination centres were monitored through AI-powered CCTV surveillance connected to a central control room, while biometric verification was mandatory for all candidates. Additionally, 5G jammers were installed to prevent any unauthorised communication during the exam.
The agency maintained that the examination was conducted smoothly across all centres nationwide.
