CBSE Class 12 Students Can Now Apply for Answer Sheet Re-Evaluation

Following the declaration of the Class 12 board results, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the schedule for post-result review facilities. Aimed at maintaining a transparent and fair evaluation process, the board is offering a sequential, step-by-step digital review system for students who are dissatisfied with their scores.

According to the official notification, the entire process will be conducted online and is strictly time-bound. Students must follow a specific sequence: obtaining a digital photocopy of their answer sheet is a mandatory prerequisite before applying for verification or the re-evaluation of specific questions.

Key Schedule and Fee Structure

Stage / Process Application Window Fee Structure (INR)
Stage 1: Online Application for Scanned Photocopy of Evaluated Answer Book May 19 to May 22, 2026 700 per subject
Stage 2: Verification of Marks (Checking for totaling errors or un-evaluated answers) May 26 to May 29, 2026 500 per answer book
Stage 3: Re-evaluation of Specific Answers (Final challenge based on marking scheme) May 31 to June 5, 2026 100 per question

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

CBSE follows a mandatory sequential process. You can only apply for verification or re-evaluation if you have first registered and applied for the scanned copy of your answer sheet during the initial window (May 19–22)
Verification of marks (Stage 2) involves checking the answer script for counting errors, unchecked responses, or totaling discrepancies. Re-evaluation (Stage 3) is a deeper scrutiny where specific answers are re-assessed against the official CBSE marking scheme by subject experts
Once an answer sheet goes through the review process, the revised marks—whether they increase or decrease—will be considered final. The original marksheet will be modified accordingly.
For students who wish to improve their performance or those placed in the compartment category, CBSE will conduct a single-day supplementary examination on July 15, 2026. The submission for the List of Candidates (LOC) for this exam will begin on June 2, 2026
