NEET UG 2025 Counselling: MCC Extends Seat Resignation Deadline, Round 2 Delayed
New Delhi, September 1, 2025 – The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has further postponed the Round 2 of NEET UG 2025 counselling, which was earlier scheduled to begin on August 29. In its latest notice, MCC has also extended the seat resignation facility for Round 1 candidates until September 3, 2025, 5:00 PM.
Round 1 Recap
The Round 1 seat allotment results for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats were announced on August 12, 2025.
Candidates were required to complete document verification, fee payment, and reporting to their allotted colleges within the given timeline.
Students were given the choice to accept, decline, or opt for an upgrade in future rounds.
With the resignation deadline extended, vacant seats will now be included in the Round 2 seat matrix, making this step crucial for smooth allotments.
Key Update for PwD Candidates
In another significant move, MCC has set up 13 new disability centres for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates. These centres will issue valid PwD certificates as per NMC (National Medical Commission) guidelines.
The PwD portal is now active and will remain open until September 5, 2025, 5:00 PM.
PwD candidates must visit the designated centres to obtain certificates in order to participate in Round 2 counselling.
What’s Next?
With repeated delays, students are urged to stay updated through the official MCC website (mcc.nic.in) for the revised Round 2 counselling schedule and further announcements.
