NEET UG 2025 Counselling: Round 1 Seat Withdrawal Deadline Extended to September 3

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially extended the deadline for candidates to withdraw from their Round-1 seat allotment in NEET UG 2025 counselling. Students now have until September 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM to resign their seats without forfeiting the security deposit

This extension ensures that even candidates who have already reported to their allotted institutions can opt out safely and prepare confidently for subsequent counselling rounds.

Why This Extension Matters

  • No Penalty for Withdrawal: Candidates who choose to resign by the new deadline will have their security deposits fully refunded

  • Inclusivity: The MCC has emphasized additional support for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates during the process

  • Planning Ahead: This extra time helps students make informed decisions without the pressure of penalties, enabling better preparedness for Round 2 or alternate options.

Essential Documents for Seat Withdrawal

To complete the resignation, candidates must submit the following through the MCC portal or their allocated college:

  • Seat allotment confirmation

  • NEET UG 2025 Admit Card

  • Rank Card or result

  • ID proof (e.g. Aadhaar, Passport, PAN, Driving Licence)

  • Standard certificates (Class 10 & 12, Date of Birth)

  • Eight passport-size photographs

  • Category-specific documents (e.g. SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/EWS certificates, NRI/OCI sponsorships)
