The test city notification slips for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 will soon be made available by the National Testing Agency (NTA). When the slips are ready, registered candidates can download them from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2025 Session 2: Exam Schedule

Paper 1 (BE/BTech):
Dates: April 2, 3, 4, and 7, 2025
Shifts:

  • Morning: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Additionally, one shift for Paper 1 will be held on April 8 (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

Paper 2A (BArch), 2B (BPlanning), and 2A & 2B (Combined):
Date: April 9, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

JEE Main 2025: Examination Structure

For JEE Main 2025, Paper 1 (for B.E./B.Tech) will have 75 questions (20 MCQs and 5 numerical value questions per subject) with a 3-hour duration, and
Paper 2 (for B.Arch/B.Plan) will have separate patterns with online and offline sections. 

Here's a more detailed breakdown of the JEE Main 2025 exam format:

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech):

Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Question Type:
    Section A: 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
    Section B: 5 Numerical Value Type questions (NVQs).
Total Questions: 75 (25 questions per subject).
Total Marks: 300.
Duration: 3 hours.
Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Language: 13 languages including Hindi, English, and Gujarati 

Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan):

Paper 2A (B.Arch):
Sections: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing. 
Drawing Test: Pen and Paper Based (Offline). 
Total Questions: 77. 
Total Marks: 400. 

Paper 2B (B.Plan):
Sections: Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning-related questions. 
Total Questions: 100. 
Total Marks: 400. 

Mode:
Computer-Based Test (CBT) except for the drawing section of Paper 2A, which is pen-and-paper-based. 

Key Changes in 2025:

Section B:
No longer has optional questions. Candidates must attempt all 5 NVQs in Section B. 

Syllabus:
Some topics have been removed from the syllabus in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

Important Notes:

Negative Marking: There is negative marking for both MCQs and NVQs. 
Marking Scheme: Each correct answer carries 4 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. 
Exam Dates: JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam is scheduled to take place on April 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8 for Paper 1 (BE/BTech), and April 9 for Paper 2 (BArch/BPlan).
