JEE Main 2026: NTA Advises Candidates to Update Aadhaar, UDID & Category Certificates Before Registration – Read Official Notice

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a crucial advisory for candidates aiming to appear in JEE Main 2026, calling upon them to revise and validate their Aadhaar card details, Unique Disability ID (UDID) (for PwD candidates), and category certificates well ahead of the registration process. 

According to the official notice dated September 29, 2025, discrepancies in any of these documents could lead to rejection or complications during verification. Aspirants are urged to make necessary corrections in time.

  • JEE Main 2026 will be held in two sessionsJanuary and April

  • The application form for Session 1 is expected to go live in October 2025 on jeemain.nta.nic.in

What to Update & Why

The NTA’s advisory lists out the following essentials:

Document Type Details to Verify / Update Reason
Aadhaar Card Name, date of birth (should match class 10 certificate), photograph, address, parent’s name To ensure consistency across records and avoid mismatch issues
UDID Card (for PwD) Validity, correct details, renew if required Incorrect UDID may affect eligibility or benefits
Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) Valid certificate, correct category details Without valid category certificate, candidates may be disqualified from reservation benefits 

The advisory notes that any inconsistency or invalid document may trigger objections or lead to rejections later in the process.
