JEE Advanced 2025 Exam Date Out - IIT Kanpur announces exam schedule for Paper 1 and 2

JEE Advanced 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has announced the date for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam. The engineering entrance exam will be conducted on Sunday, May 18, 2025. This exam serves as a gateway for admission to Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes across the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The JEE Advanced 2025 will be held in two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM IST, while Paper 2 will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM IST.

JEE Advanced 2025: Eligibility Criteria Simplified

1. Rank-Based Eligibility

To qualify for JEE Advanced 2025, candidates must rank among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (across all categories) in the B.E./B.Tech. Paper I of JEE Main 2025. The category-wise distribution is as follows:

GEN-EWS: 10%
OBC-NCL: 27%
SC: 15%
ST: 7.5%
OPEN (General): 40.5%
A 5% horizontal reservation is applicable within each category for PwD candidates.
2. Age Limit

Candidates must be born on or after October 1, 2000.
For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, there is a relaxation of 5 years, allowing those born on or after October 1, 1995 to apply.
3. Class 12th (or Equivalent) Examination
Candidates are eligible if they:

Appeared for their Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2024 or 2025, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
Candidates who appeared in Class 12th for the first time in 2023 or earlier are not eligible, regardless of subjects attempted.
