IIT Kanpur kicked off its 2025-26 placement season with a historic performance, securing 672 job offers on Day 1 (Dec 1)—the highest the institute has ever recorded on the opening day. This marks a 16% increase from last year, underscoring the strong market demand for IIT Kanpur’s talent.
By the close of Day 1, 627 students had received offers, including Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs), reflecting a 20% rise in the number of students placed compared to the previous cycle. PPOs alone accounted for 253 offers, registering a sharp 27% growth and highlighting the institute’s robust internship-to-placement pipeline.
International Offers and Major Recruiters
The placement drive also saw strong global participation, with nine international offers made on Day 1. Leading companies from India and abroad recruited across sectors such as tech, finance, consulting, engineering, design, and analytics.

In total, more than 250 companies have shown interest in hiring from IIT Kanpur this year, reaffirming its stature as one of India’s premier talent hubs.
