Exam Calendar 2026: NEET UG, WBJEE, TANCET, NIFT & More — January Registration Exams

Several national and state-level entrance examinations for undergraduate admissions in engineering, medical, pharmacy, and other professional courses are expected to open their application windows in January 2026. While registrations for JEE Main Session 1 have already concluded, the first phase of the exam is scheduled to be conducted between January 21 and January 30, 2026.

Students preparing for competitive exams should closely track upcoming application deadlines. Below is a curated list of key entrance examinations whose registrations are either underway or expected to begin in January 2026.

NEET UG 2026

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) remains the sole medical entrance exam for admissions to MBBS and BDS programmes across India. Conducted annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET UG differs from JEE Main, which is held twice a year.

Although the exam authority has not yet issued an official notification for NEET UG 2026, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the revised syllabus detailing topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. For reference, NEET UG 2025 was held on May 4, with registrations open from February 7 to March 7, 2025.

JEE Main 2026 – Session 2

The registration process for JEE Main Session 2, scheduled for April 2026, is expected to commence in the last week of January 2026, following trends from previous years. NTA will release the detailed schedule after the conclusion of Session 1.

BITSAT 2026

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Aptitude Test (BITSAT) is conducted for admissions to undergraduate programmes at BITS campuses. The application process began on December 15, and registrations for Session 1 will remain open until March 16, 2026. Session 2 registrations will be held from April 20 to May 2, 2026.

MHT CET 2026

From the 2026–27 academic session, the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) will be conducted twice a year. The first session will be held in April, followed by the second in May 2026. Candidates appearing in both sessions will have their best score considered, similar to the JEE Main pattern. PCM exams are tentatively scheduled from April 11 to 19, while PCB exams will take place from April 21 to 26.

AP EAMCET 2026

The Andhra Pradesh EAMCET serves as the gateway for admissions into engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy programmes in the state. The examinations are scheduled on May 12, 13, 14, 15, and 18, 2026, with registrations expected to open on the official portal.

KCET 2026

Conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), the Karnataka Common Entrance Test is held for admissions to engineering, veterinary, and pharmacy courses. While official dates for 2026 are awaited, registrations in 2025 began on January 23, suggesting a similar timeline this year.

NIFT 2026

The NIFT entrance exam registration process opened on December 8, 2025, via the official NTA portal. Applications without a late fee can be submitted until January 6, 2026, while submissions between January 7 and 10 will incur a late fee.

VITEEE 2026

Applications for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) opened on October 24, 2025, and will close tentatively on March 31, 2026. The exam is scheduled between April 28 and May 3, 2026.

WBJEE 2026

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is conducted for admissions into engineering, pharmacy, and architecture programmes across the state. Based on previous trends, registrations are expected to begin in January 2026, with the application window likely closing in February.

OJEE 2026

The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) notification is expected in January 2026, with registrations likely starting in the last week of January and continuing until March.

AEEE 2026

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has opened registrations for the Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination (AEEE). The deadline to apply for Phase 1 is January 15, 2026.

TS EAMCET 2026

The Telangana EAMCET for engineering admissions will be conducted on May 9, 10, and 11, 2026, while exams for agriculture and pharmacy streams are scheduled on May 4 and 5, 2026.

CUET PG 2026

Registrations for the Common University Entrance Test – Postgraduate are underway and will close on January 14, 2026. Candidates can select up to four exam city preferences within their home state.

TANCET 2026

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted by Anna University for MBA and MCA admissions. While the official notification for 2026 is awaited, applications in 2025 opened on January 24, indicating a similar schedule this year.
