CBSE Syllabus Updated to Include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Detailed History: Maharashtra CM

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said that misunderstandings surrounding the principles and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had existed at the national level for several decades, but these gaps are now being corrected through revisions in the CBSE curriculum.

Speaking separately during the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly session, Fadnavis also responded to concerns over the state’s financial health, asserting that Maharashtra continues to demonstrate strong economic stability and fiscal discipline.

He clarified that while the state treasury may not be overflowing with funds, Maharashtra remains among the strongest economies in the country. “Considering the economic parameters of large states, Maharashtra meets all required criteria. The Reserve Bank of India has permitted us to raise loans up to 25 per cent of the gross domestic product, and we are well within that limit,” he said, adding that the state currently ranks third nationally on this parameter.

Fadnavis further noted that despite allocating funds for welfare initiatives such as the ‘Ladki Bahin’ scheme and extending support to farmers, the state has successfully kept its fiscal deficit below 3 per cent. He also highlighted that Maharashtra has exceeded the Central government’s expectations in terms of capital investment and continues to lead the country in foreign direct investment inflows.

The winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature was held in Nagpur from December 8 to December 14.
