CBSE Class 10, 12 Exams 2026 On March 3 Postponed, Check Revised Schedule

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed certain Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations that were originally scheduled for March 3, 2026, due to administrative reasons. The board has issued a revised examination schedule and informed schools to update students and parents accordingly.

As per the new timetable, Class 10 examinations for several regional and foreign language subjects—Tibetan, Bhoti, Bhutia, Bodo, Tangkhul, Mizo, Kashmiri, German, Japanese, Spanish, and Bahasa Melayu—along with Academic Electives (Group A2) such as National Cadet Corps (NCC) and Elements of Book Keeping and Accountancy, will now be held on March 11, 2026.

For Class 12 students, the Legal Studies examination, earlier slated for March 3, has been rescheduled to April 10, 2026. All other examination dates will remain unchanged.

In a circular dated December 29, 2025, CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the changes were made for administrative reasons and emphasized that the revised dates will be reflected in students’ admit cards. Schools have been directed to update their internal date sheets and ensure timely communication with students and parents.

CBSE also advised students appearing for the 2026 board exams to carefully check the revised schedule and plan their preparation accordingly.

The CBSE Class 10 and 12 board examinations will begin on February 17, 2026. On the first day, Class 10 students will appear for Mathematics (Standard and Basic), while Class 12 students will have papers in Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Shorthand (English), and Shorthand (Hindi).

All exams will be conducted in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
