New Delhi: The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani will commence the registration process for the BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) 2026 from December 15, 2025, according to an update on its official admissions portal. Candidates can submit applications for Session 1 or for both sessions until March 16, 2026.
The BITSAT 2026 examination will be conducted in two phases. Session 1 is scheduled from April 15 to April 17, 2026, while Session 2 will be held between May 24 and May 26, 2026. Similar to the JEE Main pattern, candidates may choose to appear in either one session or both. For those attempting both sessions, the best score will be considered for admission, BITS Pilani confirmed.
To improve accessibility and transparency, BITS Pilani has updated its official admissions website to admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in. Aspirants are advised to rely only on this portal for authentic information related to BITSAT 2026, including application details, exam updates, and scholarship opportunities.
Speaking on the institute’s commitment to inclusivity, BITS Pilani Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramgopal Rao said that the institution strives to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder deserving students. “Nearly one in four students across our campuses receives some form of financial assistance. Many of our alumni have also established fully funded scholarships, particularly for students from economically weaker sections and for girls aspiring to study at BITS Pilani,” he said, encouraging students from lower- and middle-income backgrounds to take the exam with confidence.
BITSAT is a computer-based entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate programmes such as BE, B.Pharm, and BSc (Integrated) across BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. The test evaluates candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology, English Proficiency, and Logical Reasoning.
The exam comprises 130 core questions, along with 12 optional bonus questions. Candidates are awarded three marks for each correct answer, while one mark is deducted for each incorrect response. No marks are awarded or deducted for unattempted questions, making strategic answering crucial due to negative marking.
Applicants are advised to regularly check the official admissions portal for the latest updates related to BITSAT 2026 registration, exam dates, and admission procedures.
