The resistance of the circuit, $R_{net} = \frac{V}{I} = \frac{4}{2 mA} = 2 \times 10^{3} Ω$

Equivalent resistance, $\frac{10^{3} \times 10 R}{10^{4} + R} = 2 \times 10^{3}$

$10^{4} R = 2 \times 10^{7} + 2 \times 10^{3} R$

$\Rightarrow R = \frac{10^{4}}{4} Ω = 2500 Ω$
