UP Board Class 10 Social Science – Resources and Development

Resources and Development is the first chapter of the UP Board Class 10 Social Science Geography syllabus. In this chapter, students learn about the meaning of resources and their importance in human life. Resources are mainly classified into natural, human-made, and human resources. The chapter explains different types of natural resources such as renewable and non-renewable, biotic and abiotic, and their uneven distribution on Earth.



It also discusses land resources in India, including land use patterns influenced by physical, economic, and social factors. Soil erosion and soil conservation methods such as contour ploughing, terrace farming, and afforestation are also covered.
