Vaults are barrier method of contraception. These are made of rubber that are inserted into the female reproductive tract to cover the cervix during coitus. They prevent conception by blocking the entry of sperms through the cervix. Periodic abstinence or rhythm method, coitus interruptus or withdrawal method and lactational amenorrhea are natural method of contraception which work on the principle of avoiding the meeting of ovum and sperms.
