Area of dotted region (front view)

= Area of square - Area of four sectors

$= (42)^{2} - 4 \times \frac{90 °}{360 °} \times \frac{22}{7} \times (21)^{2} = 1764 - \frac{22}{7} \times 21 \times 21 = 1764 - 1386 = 378 m^{2}$
