$D_{n} = u + \frac{a}{2} (2 n - 1); D_{8} = 20 m and D_{9} = 22 m$

$∴$ $20 = u + \frac{a}{2} (2 \times 8 - 1) = u + \frac{15}{2} a$ $\dots (i)$

$∴$ $22 = u + \frac{a}{2} (2 \times 9 - 1) = u + \frac{17}{2} a$ $\dots (i i)$
