1. Overview
Government Medical College, Hanumangarh (GMC Hanumangarh) is a government-run medical college in Rajasthan. It is affiliated to the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipur, and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). The college is one of the newer institutions in the state, established recently to expand access to medical education in the region.
2. Courses Offered & Seat Intake
Undergraduate (UG): MBBS – annual intake of 100 seats in the MBBS program.
Duration: 4.5 years academic + 1 year compulsory internship.
At present, postgraduate (MD/MS) and super-specialty programmes are not widely available (or are in development) since the college is newly established.
3. Fee Structure (Approximate)
The total fee for the MBBS programme is around INR 4.86 lakhs (for full duration) in 2025.
Annual tuition fee in earlier data: ~ INR 70,340 per year for the first year.
Hostel fee (when listed) ~ INR 18,000–25,000 per year in approximations.
Note: Actual fee may vary by category (General/OBC/SC/ST), quota (State or All India), and on whether hostel/mess charges are included.
4. Cut-Offs (Expected for 2025)
For MBBS, the All India Quota (AIQ) closing rank for General category is around 15,789 in Round 3.
Under Rajasthan State Quota, General category closing rank is about 41,324 in one of the rounds.
Broadly, a rough expected NEET-UG marks range could be:
General (AIQ): ~ 610-630 marks
OBC: ~ 600-620 marks
SC/ST categories will have lower marks thresholds (depending on reservation).
These are estimates based on recent trends and actual numbers may differ.
5. Hostel & Campus Facilities
Hostel facilities are available for both male and female students.
The campus infrastructure is developing with academic blocks, laboratories and an attached teaching hospital for clinical exposure.
Given the institution’s recent establishment, while modern facilities are being put in place, the full range of amenities (sports, research labs, large PG hospital departments) may still be building up.
6. Ranking & Reputation
GMC Hanumangarh is among the newer medical colleges in Rajasthan.
In one listing, it is ranked around #622 out of 632 medical colleges in India (2025) and approximately #40 in Rajasthan for that year.
Being a government college offers the benefit of lower fees and generally strong academic foundation; however, its legacy, alumni network and full clinical-exposure scale are still under development.
7. Admission Process (2025)
For MBBS:
Qualify the NEET-UG examination for 2025.
Participate in counselling:
All India Quota (15%) via MCC.
Rajasthan State Quota (85%) via state counselling authority.
Register, fill choices (including GMC Hanumangarh), seat allotment done by rank, category, quota.
Document verification, fee payment, and reporting to the college as per schedule.
Eligibility:
10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Minimum aggregate: ~ 50% for General category (may vary).
Age: At least 17 years by December 31 of the year of admission.
8. Placements & Career Opportunities
As with most MBBS programmes, traditional corporate-style placements are not applicable. The pathway involves:
One year compulsory internship in the attached hospital.
After MBBS, students may pursue postgraduate (MD/MS) programmes, join government or private hospitals, or take up role in health services.
Given the newness of the college, detailed placement statistics (average salary, PG conversion rate) are limited.
9. Key Highlights & Considerations
Highlights:
Government-status college → comparatively affordable fees.
Intake of 100 MBBS seats giving opportunity for many students.
New infrastructure, modern setup, patient exposure building up.
Considerations:
As a recent institution, fewer batches graduated; thereby smaller alumni network and limited long-term data.
PG and super-specialty offerings may be fewer or in early stages, so if you aim for PG later, check the growth trajectory.
Verify hostel/mess availability, room type, living conditions, and university service obligations (if any).
Cut-offs may rise with time; competition may increase.
